My Research

I am primarily interested in understanding the vast
reservoir of plasma that surrounds a galaxy's disk -- the circumgalactic
medium (CGM). The CGM regulates the gas flow into and out of a galaxy's disk, and
understanding its evolution is a key to understanding the ever-evolving nature of galaxies –-
star formation, supernovae, and the interplay of the baryons and dark matter
that grow and transform over cosmic timescales.

Research Focus

My research explores how galaxies evolve through the complex interplay of hydrodynamic mixing, turbulence, and radiative cooling. Using high-resolution simulations and theoretical modelling, I investigate multiphase gas in galactic outflows and ram-pressure stripped galaxies. I am particularly interested in the fate of cold gas in these extreme environments -- how it fragments, survives, and grows!
